Gilded

 

This mesmerizing series is Elijah's newest body of work currently in process. Crafted using hand-cut shreds of genuine gold, silver, or copper leaf delicately layered into each sculpture’s design, Elijah carefully encases the metal inclusions between individual glass shards as the composition takes shape. Within the inner layers, tiny metal flecks and metal oxide powders are applied into the crevices – a meticulous process to form vein-like trails throughout the work. Once fired, the gilded veins and flashes of metal illuminate the sculpture with an ethereal, opulent glow.

 

Each sculpture is a gleaming testament to patience, precision, and the quiet intensity of a beautifully intentional process.
