KELL GLASS
Crafted by hand. Fired to form.

Gilded
This series is my newest body of work, crafted using hand-cut shreds of genuine gold, silver or copper leaf, and inclusions of natural mineral flakes. Delicately layered into each sculpture’s design, I carefully encase the metal inclusions between individual glass shards while building the composition's shape. Within the inner layers, tiny metallic flecks and metal oxide powders are applied into the crevices – a meticulous process to form vein-like trails throughout the work. Once fired, the gilded veins and flashes of metal illuminate the sculpture with an ethereal, opulent glow.
Every sculpture is a gleaming testament to the patience, precision, and quiet intensity of a beautifully intentional process. Click the images to learn more about each piece.

Copper Currents is a striking sculpture where captivating fluidity meets metallic brilliance. It’s my first gallery piece in this new series.
Crafted in a vibrant palette of rich aqua and deep teal-green, my design for this water-inspired piece features a hand-shaped organic form with textured edges that play beautifully with light. Intricate trails of shimmering copper inclusions are tediously layered between shards and within the crevices, evoking motion throughout the sculpture and creating a brilliant contrast against the translucent glass.
My Gilded series is a new exploration of material, technique, and creativity, and Copper Currents did not disappoint. Each viewing angle reveals new depths, textures, and reflection. It’s a boldly spectacular sculpture, setting the stage for what’s still to come.

A benefit sculpture for the Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse & Child Advocacy Center
2025 Cigars, Bourbon & Benefactors event
This profoundly meaningful sculpture prompted the development of my Gilded series, with its hand-cut shreds of 22k gold leaf woven throughout the design.
The upward momentum of "Illuminating Promise" symbolizes the act of rising through darkness and persevering against adversity, reflecting the children's journey of reaching for the light and trusting the surrounding pathways of support.
Woven through its layered shards are golden prismatic threads – trails of promise – beaming from deep within the crevices, a design feature that allows light to break through the shadows and reveal a brilliant kaleidoscope of color. Ultimately, the sculpture culminates in an expression of victory where storms give way to clear skies and white clouds above – when hope and healing take over – and the breathtaking beauty of a wonderous new path emerges.

A benefit sculpture for the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center
This deeply purposeful centerpiece was created for the live auction at this year’s “An Evening for Dove House” event. The organization’s mission supports child-victims of abuse through advocacy, intervention, collaboration, and education.
I was inspired to create "Gilded Garden" as a visual metaphor for the journey of a child healing from abuse and the loving Dove House gardeners who gently tend to their broken roots.
My hand-formed sculptural bowl features rich green hues, floral accents, and genuine gold leaf layered throughout. These gleaming accents and cascading, prismatic trails do not hide the glass; they bring vibrancy, transforming vulnerability into resilient beauty. Small glass flower buds are embedded in the design representing growth and each child’s inherent potential to blossom despite harsh elements.
2026 marks my 5th year supporting this annual event – a humbling and rewarding opportunity to help make an impact for young, innocent victims of abuse. “Gilded Garden” stands as a reminder of the comfort, hope and healing that blooms for every child and family that Dove House serves.

A benefit sculpture for Bright Blessings, bringing joy, care and hope to homeless and impoverished children
2025 Gems of the City annual gala
This luminous sculpture is inspired by the emerald, the traditional gemstone for 20th anniversaries. It perfectly aligns with Bright Blessings’ two decades of delivering vital programs to homeless and impoverished children. Often recognized as the "gem of the heart," the emerald beautifully reflects the organization's mission and the giving hearts of its staff, volunteers, and supporters who work tirelessly to brighten the lives of thousands of children each year.
"Emerald Radiance" is crafted with individually cut shards in vibrant hues of green, meticulously layered to shape its fluid form. Genuine silver leaf flakes and tiny bits of iridescent glass fill the crevices between the shards, creating shimmering trails throughout the piece. Hand-crushed fragments of translucent glass surround its deep emerald core, sparkling like raw crystals.
Just as its scattered fragments come together to form a brilliant and unified whole, "Emerald Radiance" stands as a stunning testament to the collective power of community—proving that when many compassionate hearts join forces, their efforts shine a loving light into the lives of children who need it most.
