Reflecting the organic allure of geodes and gemstones, my Crystalline sculptures blend the granular textures of natural stone with the luminosity of polished jewels. Each piece is composed of thousands of hand-crushed and sifted glass fragments, carefully layered in varying densities and shaped into organic forms with depth, vibrant hues, and a radiant interplay of light.

Intrepid is my most daring and striking sculpture to date. A first-of-its-kind piece, it combines multiple techniques and layers over seven pounds of glass.
This bold sculpture shimmers with iridescence. Its design reflects the metallic luster of marcasite and polished pyrite, with shifting hues of gold, silver, and copper against an onyx backdrop.
I built the composition layer by layer and section by section over several weeks using thousands of hand-crushed, sifted glass fragments and hand-cut shards. With its dense, organic form, any misalignment of space and weight along the way creates an inherent risk of collapse during the firing cycles – a process that offers no guarantee of success. But Intrepid held, emerging flawlessly through the process, strong and unyielding.
As my pride and joy, Intrepid holds a unique, irreplaceable space in my work. I have yet to attempt anything like it since.

Aquamarine comes from the Latin word for seawater. Ancient mariners carried it to calm waves and ensure safe passage. Today, the gemstone continues to represent tranquility and strength through life's storms.
To capture the full spectrum of an aquamarine—from pure sea-blue to greenish-blue—I layered hand-crushed glass fragments in aqua, turquoise, blue, and green. I also integrated white accents to give its sea-inspired design an ethereal feel.
Achieving height is always a gamble with my Crystalline sculptures. Hand-shaped entirely from crushed glass fragments into intentionally irregular forms, each layer’s weight and spacing must perfectly align to prevent collapse as it fires and solidifies. Breath of the Sea emerged tall, tranquil, and untamed—a beautiful reflection of its historical significance.

This sculpture is the most literal interpretation of a gemstone in my Crystalline series. Inspired by golden Moroccan calcite - specifically the dogtooth variety - it captures honey-golden crystals that form within a geode's hollow cavities, surrounded by its spiky, tooth-like calcite crystals.
As I built the sculpture’s shape, I created open areas within the composition to allow my glass layers to stretch and pull around those spaces while still holding to its formation. Hand-forming this irregular shape while leaving areas completely empty tested both my technical precision and the science behind the medium. Ultimately, Enigmatic proved to be a success and stands as my most audacious sculpture.
